In Lesson 4 we explore different types of microphones not only in terms of make and model, but we also focus on internal construction. We take a deep dive (diagrams and all) into the inner workings of different types of mics, and the reasons they are constructed in certain ways with certain materials, so you’ll be able to understand which microphones to choose depending on their application.
Which mics will you choose in live settings as you’re miking that drum kit? Which mic will you choose when you have the opportunity to record a vocalist? Here you will learn the importance of knowing the differences, and once you know the standards, you’ll be empowered to forge you own path and try all kinds of mics on anything you like.
Learn the rules here, so you can totally break them!
