The last 2 lessons in our 17 part series are our big-time heavy hitters. We’ve reached a higher level of pro-audio and are back with some math-laden doozies. You want Ohm’s Law, oh, we’ve got it: Welcome to Lesson 16.
If you’ve ever stood in a guitar store nervous about what to buy and not wanting to admit you don’t understand it like the guy above, you won’t be nervous after this. But it’s not only just about how to pair an amp with a speaker (although that’s covered in detail), it’s also about specs, speaker construction, circuits, tubes, all of it. All of the components of Ohm’s Law will be broken down and explained. The equations themselves will be explained simply. We’ll talk about what could happen if you get it wrong and even throw in some simplified rules you can follow in order to skip the math. We’ll also talk about more complicated systems with multiple amps and speakers. Tubes vs. Solid State… This lesson has everything you’ve ever wanted to understand but may have been avoiding due to complexity.
Time to conquer it – let’s do this!
